Is Paphos better than Ayia Napa for families?

Yes for most families. Paphos is more relaxed and culturally interesting, with UNESCO archaeological sites, calm beaches, and a less party-focused atmosphere than Ayia Napa. Coral Bay north of Paphos is excellent for families with young children — shallow, calm, and well-facilitated. Ayia Napa suits younger visitors looking for nightlife and water parks.

How hot is Paphos in summer?

July and August average 35°C, often reaching 38–40°C in peak heat. This is genuinely very hot and most activity shifts to early morning and evening. The sea reaches 27–28°C in August. Spring (April–June) and autumn (September–November) offer similar sunshine with more manageable temperatures (25–30°C).

Is Cyprus safe?

Cyprus is one of the safest countries in Europe — consistently low crime rates and very welcoming to British visitors.
